Bird Watching
BIRD WATCHING AT CERRO CAMPANA NATIONAL PARK
Cerro Campana is located at 50 minutes from Panama City. It covers an area of 4,816 hectares and became the country’s first national park in 1967. The park, embraced by the Rio Chagres which is part of a complex water reserves system to provide the Panama Canal operations, harbors a great biodiversity of flora and fauna. According to studies carried out by the National Panamanian University and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, the geography of the region characterized by mountains of basaltic rock, has contributed to the park’s rich diversity of species. This is the perfect place for bird watching, even for beginners and you will become familiarized with species such as the iris-beaked toucan, the tangara, the white-tailed sparrow hawk and the pava samba.
INCLUDED: ground transportation from the beach (* transportation from the city could be arranged for extra cost), English-speaking tour guide, entry fees, soft drinks and snacks.
